Does Adult Dating Fun Assure You Happiness?

Article by Francis K. Githinji

Why do we date? there are as many reasons as to why people are having adult dating fun as there are many people in the world. One of the solid reasons is to have fun. It is basically a fun activity to many individuals. You will hear many singles saying that they want to experience dating fun before they get to commit to one man or woman. Dating for many singles is a confusing social activity. If i may ask you, are you happy in dating? You can either give me a quick defensive response which goes like “why not? off course i am happy” or a bemused response which goes like “Not really, is there a room for that”. Being happy should be a naturally simple concept and you and i wonder why it seems so difficult for an individual to acquire it.

Some people are doing poorly at being happy. Adult dating fun should be a reality to many people whether they are single, married, divorced, single parents. You should be happy under all circumstances and there should be no excuse for dating boredom. There are some dating myths that make it look like the ultimate adult dating fun is immoral. For instance it does not mean that you are crazy if you date a young girl after being a widower for so long. Allow happiness into your life and debunk all the myths that might stand on your way. Many people among them couples think that happiness must be somewhere and it has to be found. My dear one happiness is not “out there”. The truth of the matter is, it is actually within us. It is a not obtained from external sources.

To tell you the truth the ‘out there’ kind of adult dating fun is more of a fantasy than a reality. It is very unwise for you as a person to solely depend on places, people and events to give you happiness. It gives pleasure but it is just mere cream on the cake. To be happy you have to understand that it is a birth right. I know you will identify with the myth that we get happiness in dating since the other person makes us happy. Happiness cannot be bestowed on us by another person. This is simply an illusion created by literature, love songs and culture. If you are not by yourself a happy person, nobody can make you vibrant.

Adult dating fun is an extra bonus to our happiness story but it can never be the whole real story. The mistaken idea that someone makes you happy causes unprecedented levels of heartaches in the society. The myth is dragged into marriages and romantic relationships where it is literally reduced by the weighty foot of disillusionment. The good news i bring to you today is that, you do not need to be suffering if you accept full responsibility of your own happiness. It is a good thing to know that if no one is responsible for making you happy, you too have no responsibility of making anyone happy. Such liberation is true happiness and you will automatically have too much to share with others.

The Pursuit of Happyness – How Can we be Happy?

Article by Josh Lipovetsky

In Pursuit of Happyness, Will Smith plays Chris Gardner, a motivated man living on the last of his means. Chris is constantly looking for a consistent quality of life, but seems to get beaten down at every road. A few times throughout the movie, Gardner expresses his thoughts on happiness, and whether or not it is actually attainable. Happiness can be looked at in many ways, but I will outline two of them: Short-Term and Long-Term happiness.

Short-Term happiness is achievable by anyone. Regardless of your age, gender, social status, economic status, etc. It can be experienced everyday. The exciting feeling of getting that paycheck, the excitement of watching your favorite movie, the internal joy of expressing gratitude, or it can be the motivational nudge received when you complete an activity/goal. We may not notice, but feelings of happiness occur often throughout our lives, we just need to know how to look for it. It can strike us when we need it most: In the Pursuit of Happyness, Chris gains short-term happiness when he sells each bone density scanner for 0. It is the happiness that he will be able to sustain his family for another month. And it also provides him with enough happiness to accomplish his long term goal of becoming a stock broker.

Long-Term happiness is much more difficult to notice in our everyday lives. 60% of our LT (long-term) happiness is predetermined at birth (genes, heredity), and the other 40% is determined by what we do in our lives. Some people are genetically inclined to be more happy than others. But regardless, we all have our long-term goals, set with the intention of making us happier. We tell ourselves, “I am going to finally be happy when I achieve this goal”. But when the goal is achieved, the happiness soon goes away, and we are looking for more things to make us happy. Long-Term happiness is very difficult to notice; and is a gift of living. Try to monitor your happiness levels for a day, and try to notice how happy you are.

We are all different in virtually unlimited ways, but we are all looking for happiness. Happiness can be experienced in life everyday, in both the short and long term. Look for both, and be twice as happy. The Pursuit of Happyness inspired me to write about the different types of happiness in our lives. Whether short-term or long-term, we all have something to be happy about.

Coaching for Success

Article by Terence Traut

Coaching is perhaps the most effective method of increasing performance available to managers, team leaders, and colleagues. This article defines coaching and outlines a process for effective coaching.

Coaching Defined

Coaching is perhaps the most effective method of increasing performance available to managers, team leaders, and colleagues.

If you wish to improve the skills of your employees, you must plan to observe them and provide them with feedback. If you’re like most supervisors or managers, you have limited time and are looking for employees to become proficient – and independent – faster.

Entelechy’s Coaching Model is designed to help you do just that!

The Coaching Model is appropriate for developing the skills of employees if the employee is willing to improve. Coaching should not be used as a softer, gentler version of corrective action; if a performance problem occurs, you will want to use the Problem Solving model.

The Coaching Model is based on several important principles:

1. There are two primary goals to coaching:

* To improve performance.

* To help employees gain the ability to self-assess.

2. It is important that the coaching sessions follow a predictable process. This will help the coachees feel more comfortable and relaxed, which will help to ensure they actively participate in these sessions. It is for this reason that we suggest that you share the coaching model with your employees prior to coaching.

3. Coaching is a planned development process and should not be a surprise.

4. The way you open the conversation sets the tone for what will follow.

5. After we open the conversation using our initial probe, we discuss positives first and areas for improvement last. Beginning with positives first is motivational and accomplishes the following:

* The goal is to have employees increase their performance. If they are not in a positive frame of mind, they will not be open to this change.

* Reinforces good behavior and ease into the coaching session.

* Builds self-esteem.

6. Ending the coaching session with a discussion of areas for development ensures that they are focusing on those areas.

7. Always give the coachee a chance to self-assess before you offer your insights. Encouraging self-assessment is positive for several reasons:

* It encourages improvement even when you are not coaching.

* It allows you to determine why the employee may not be performing as desired; they may not know that they’re doing something incorrectly.

* It builds self-esteem.

* It increases the chances that behavior will change.

8. Reinforce correct self-assessment.

9. Defer or redirect inappropriate or incorrect self-assessment.

10. We focus coaching on only two strengths and two areas for development. Limiting the discussion is important and accomplishes the following:

* Increases the coachee’s ability to reach proficiency.

* Focuses on the most important issues.

* Other issues can be addressed after some progress has been made on the most important issues first.

11. If an employee is not identifying areas that you identified (or has identified them incorrectly), use increasingly specific questions to allow the employee to self-assess if possible. This allows you to determine if the employee doesn’t know what’s expected, doesn’t have the skill, or simply chooses not to demonstrate the skill.

The Coaching Model at Work

Now let’s turn our attention to Entelechy’s Coaching Model in practice.

Step 1: Open the Conversation

The coach opens the conversation with a general question; this helps the coach get a sense for the accuracy of the coachee’s self-assessment. If the coachee responds with, “that was the best call ever” and you thought that the call was poor, you know that you’ll have to adjust your coaching conversation.

Step 2: Probe for What Went Well

The coach asks the coachee what went particularly well and listens for the responses. By identifying what went well first, a positive tone for the coaching session is set. We want to make sure that the coachee continues doing these things. This also forces the coachee — NOT THE COACH — to identify superior performance.

Step 2a: Redirect or Defer

Sometimes the coachee will bring up a negative when you’re discussing positives. You will want to defer that discussion until later in the coaching conversation by saying, “I’d like to talk about that more later. What else went particularly well?”

Other times, the coachee will claim something as a positive that — in your opinion — was an area that needs development. You will want to redirect their perception by pointing out what you saw that helped you conclude that it was less than desirable. “Oh, really? Did you happen to see John’s face when you discussed the product’s features? That’s right, he seemed to lose interest when you started talking about us rather than about him….”

Step 2b: Support and Build

When the coachee correctly assesses his performance — both strengths and areas for development — support the assessment by saying, “I agree.” Build from their conclusions to reinforce the accuracy of their self-assessment. In this way, you are reinforcing one of the most valuable skills anyone can acquire: the ability to assess and improve their own performance.

Step 3: Probe for Areas for Development

The third step is to ask the coachee what he would change if he could do it again. Obviously, if the coachee knows what could be improved and knows how to improve it, he won’t benefit from YOU telling him! And by mentally rehearsing what he will do differently, the likelihood of him actually carrying out the improvement is increased.

Most experts agree that two or three areas for development are enough for anyone to work on. Working on a laundry list of things to change is frustrating and futile. Focus on the areas of greatest need.

When identifying areas for development, the coachee may not have identified the one that you thought was most important. Again, you can redirect their perception by identifying what you saw that they might not have that allowed you to come to your conclusion. “I agree that the two areas that you identified would definitely had made the call go better. What do you think the effect of your product feature presentation was on the customer? Why? What might you do differently the next time…?”

Step 4: Summarize and Support

Even though you may have limited the coaching to a few strengths and a couple areas for development, you will want to briefly summarize the discussion, especially what the coachee will do differently the next time. This recap will cause the most important things to remain fresh in memory. You will also want to support the changes by saying something like, “I think those changes will make your next call go even better.”

Follow these four steps to help your employees and colleagues increase their performance. In the next issue we discuss how to give feedback within the coaching framework.

Health is …

Article by Colin Byrne

Health is …..

by Colin Byrne

23 July 2011

There is a common misconception that not being sick, is being healthy. We commonly greet each other by a polite,”How are you?”

This reveals how we get “stuck in our history”. This form of greeting originated during the plague of the 14th century when thousands of people all over the world were being decimated and died a tragic ans painful death from the “plague”. It was unsafe to be with people who had the plague so there was a dark suspicion of anyone who was unwell. This has contributed to our negative thinking about what health is.

Ever since then people all over the world greet each other in that way, “How are you?”

How many times do you say, “How are you?” without waiting for a response. Our human history has the idea the that ifyou are unwell, then that represents a threat to your health. How often has someone asked asked you, “How are you?”without waiting for a response.

Of course, nowadays, this question is about being polite.

To set the record straight being “fine” is not being healthy. The response “Fine” most time means, “I am not sick”.I want to raise the “bar” as it were, about what health is.

I want to explain what it means to be healthy. In our past being “fine”, was not “being sick”. I want to share with you that “not being” sick or unwell is not necessarily being healthy. Do you know what health is?

Health is a concept that alludes many people because of our history. Being alive is not necessarily a passport to goodhealth. So what is good health? Health is …

To understand health, we should also understand something of our evolutionary history. Our grandparents, or for some,great-grandparents lived in a very different way than we do now. There were no instant, preprepared meals. They atelargely from that which came from the earth. Natural foods grown in a natural way.

Furthermore, we should understand how our evolutionary history effects the amount of exercise we get. The truth is weget too little exercise. Exercise is very important for health because it generates nitric oxides in our veins and arteries. Italso stimulates oxidants that are part of our immune system.

In our past, time was more sedentary. There were less activities to distract us. Modern day life is lived at a hectic pace.More to do, schedules, timetables, “to do” lists, more, more, more. It never ends. We have less time for reflection, forbeing sedentary and taking time out and just being.

Because of this, we don’t take time to reflect on our history. Where do I come from? What pre-dispositions to ill-healthdo I have? If my family history is longevity or brevity why is this so and what can I do about it?

Did you know that you can lose 90% of the use of your kidneys before you become aware that you have a problem? Illhealth is pervasive. Arteries, your heart, lungs, pancreas, liver, brain, can all become diseased without you knowingabout it until it is too late.

So health is….

Eating the right foodsGetting the right amount of exerciseMaking time for reflection, asking yourself “How am I?”Asking yourself, “What natural conditions did my ancestors die of , and how can I avoid this?.This is only the start.

Health is having all the cells, tissue and organs in your body working together harmoniously.

Science has discovered the reason for the ageing process (ill-health). It is quite complex but there are two majorcontributing factors.

Firstly, the moment you are born your immune system produces oxidised cells. Oxidised cells are the “first response” toany bacteria, pathogens and free radicals in the body. I won’t go into what each of these are, but suffice it to say, they are”foreign bodies” in our physiology (we also get them in our foods and in the air).

The oxidised cells play a big part in keeping us healthy. However, oxidation is the reason why we keep our foods intins, bottles and plastic. You see, when food is exposed to air, the oxygen in the air, begins to oxidise the foods and theybegin to rot. Oxidation is also the reason metal rusts. Most forms of cell deterioration are a result of oxidation.

In the past, we used to eat foods that contained natural antioxidants (mainly berries) and these antioxidants preventedthe oxidised cells from doing damage to the body. Oxidised cells are like renegade firemen. Once they put out a fire, they look for the next fire, and if there isn’t one, they start one to carry out their “firemen duties”. Since we are notgetting sufficient antioxidants in our diets, we have to supplement with antioxidants. In other words, if you don’t getsufficient antioxidants in the body, the body begins to oxidise (rot) and the cells in your body deteriorate.

The second process that is a major contributor to ageing (cell deterioration) is the cell renewal process (apoptosis).Every cell has DNA. DNA is a molecule that carries the “blueprint” of our physiology, that makes all the cells in ourbodies work harmoniously, so that our cells don’t turn on each other (like in heart transplant or liver transplantpatients). DNA creates the “match” or “mating” of other cells. I won’t go into what and how important DNA is, butbasically, when our cells renew, they should renew with the exact chromosomal structure as before. Chromosomes arelike the “computer language” that determines our physiology.

Cells have a communication system that is used to communicates with other cells. That is how the body responds to foreign bodies.

This communication takes place through glycoforms. They are like little “masts” (similar to the mobile telephonetowers scattered around). They receive and transmit cell signals to each other through electro-magnetc cell signalling. As long as the glycoforms remain healthy and intact, the body’s communication system stays healthy. However, if theglycoforms deteriorate, this can contribute to wrong messages to the body for cell renewal. The body then reproducescells that that are not the same, contributing further to cell degeneration. The glycoforms are made up of 8 saccharides(sugars). Only 2 are commonly fond in the diets of many individauls (glucose and fructose and often in unhealthy largequantities, particularly if they don’t follow a healthy nutritional regimen).

If the process of oxidation continues and is not stemmed by antioxidants, cells in the body degenerate. (Our cells renewapproximately every 7 years). Now the problem is, if they are degenerating, the body produces exactly the same cell. Inother words, the body begins to reproduce degenerative cells. Over time, the cells in our body, begin to deteriorate, andthis produces the ageing process.

It is quite simple, and the understanding of this is what made me formulate Glyco-Boost. Glyco-Boost contains some ofthe most powerful antioxidants you will find. Why do I have more than one? The reason is because differentantioxidants stimulate different responses in our systems. Some are water soluble, and act in our blood plasma, andothers stimulate lipids and protect the membrane surrounding each cell. The bottom line is to fight and neutralize peskyfree radicals (oxidised cells), you need both types of antioxidants from as many sources as possible. When takentogether, the efficacy of water- and lipid soluble antioxidants is enhanced even more.

Furthermore, Glyco-Boost contains the 6 saccharides that one doesn’t commonly get from your diet. These fortify theglycoforms surrounding the cell membrane and assist in healthy cell-to-cell communication.

Glyco-Boost doesn’t make you younger or healthy, necessarily, but it assists in these 2 vital area’s, viz. oxidation andcell renewal.

I have not been sick for 7 years now. I have not seen a doctor or dentist for 7 years. Why? because I look after the cellsin my body. If I get the symptoms of an illness, I double up on my dosage of Glyco-Boost and the symptoms are gonewithin 24 hours.
