Happiness is a flower out of life

Article by Kaien Shelia Smithson

A child, I dreamed of becoming a painter, will be free to start a painting. See my father so obsessed with painting the door; they took me to visit an old painter. Old painter looked at my painting, asked: “Son, why did you learn to draw it?” “I want to be a painter.” I said. “But not every school can become a painting of the artist’s last.” Remind me of the old painter, said: “My child, you paint, I feel happy?” “Happy.” I replied. “There is joy enough!”

The world has two kinds of flowers, a flower can be the result, not the result of a flower, not the result of the flower is more beautiful, like roses, and tulips for example, they are never the result because they can not, give up the joy and beauty of their bloom. People like a flower, there is a person can result, a career, while a person can not result, his life with little success, but just an ordinary person. But ordinary people are happy as long as the heart, face to laugh, like roses and tulips can still do, to get people to appreciate and love. Before leaving, the old artist patted my shoulder, encouraging me: “Son, do a happy man now. Because there is joy, happiness, a happy life there is sunshine.”Spring, I saw a girl standing on the balcony, she held a stick, stick with one end of a beautiful red silk, red silk floating lightly in the window. I asked the little girl was doing, the little girl said she catch butterflies. I asked, how can you not hook to catch butterflies with it? The little girl said, she did not catch butterflies in the body, but to catch the butterfly of happiness. Little girl, reminds me of a friend. He is interested in fishing; go out early in the morning, the evening when it is back. Once, his Lingui creel empty, not a fish, but he is still singing along. Others did not understand: “You have such a day, and no other to a hooked fish, how has this happy?” He replied: “Fish do not bite my hook that was it, and I have to catch up for a day happy!”It turned out that the genuine anglers, the best fish is joy. More recently, read a paper on the information in Iceland: Iceland in the cold North Atlantic, about 13% of the land is snow covered, and the world one of the largest active volcano, called “dire straits”! However, the mortality rate in Iceland is located in the end of the world, the average life expectancy in the world in the first.Living in such a harsh environment Icelanders, why in the world of the late mortality and life expectancy among the worlds first in it? With this question, a U.S. poll organization in 18 countries of the world did a sample survey of residents; the results show that residents of Iceland are the world’s happiest people. Icelanders take the test of 27 million, 82% of people are satisfied with their lives. It turned out that the secret of longevity Icelanders is happy. Happiness is the best medicine, happy life out of a flower; it can not only delay the physiological function of our aging.

Happiness Means Overall Experience of Pleasure and Meaning

Article by Cinderalla

What is Happiness?Happiness is the “overall experience of pleasure and meaning. A happy person enjoys positive emotions while perceiving her life as purposeful.” The balance here is key. Neither hedonism nor rat-racing delayed gratification can satisfy alone.Allow Yourself to Be HumanAn important caveat: don’t expect to be “happy” all the time. You will sometimes be sad. You will sometimes be anxious or nervous, you’ll get dumped, and you’ll feel overwhelmed. These are human emotions. Don’t fear or be embarrassed of them. Instead, embrace them; they are part of life. Your life. As someone has said: “there are some people who always feel happy, they’re called psychopaths.”The goal should be that over the aggregate of your life you have a large number of pleasurable moments and feel, on the whole, engaged in meaningful activities.Happiness is the Ultimate CurrencyThis is a dangerous thought for college students. Increasingly, however, I’ve been pushing it: Make happiness the ultimate goal in your life. Build everything around this; from your course schedule to your career path.Enough big picture ideas, let’s get to the specific advice… Tip #1: Set GoalsResearch shows that the pursuit of goals that are concordant with your values can produce significant increases in your sense of well-being. Interestingly, the data show that achieving goals (or failing to do so) doesn’t seem to matter so much. There is something about having a focus on something important that helps us get more out of each present moment.Tip #2: Seek FlowThe magic state for increasing well-being is to be neither bored nor overwhelmed. This means you should seek challenges that exactly meet or slightly surpass your current abilities. For college students, in particular, this translates to finding that perfect course load that pushes you intellectually without overwhelming you with more work than you can easily manage.Tip #3: Simplify Your LifePsychologist Time has shown that time affluence consistently predicts well-being whereas material influence does not. For the uninitiated: Time affluence is “the feeling that one has sufficient time to pursue activities that are personally meaningful, to reflect, and to engage in leisure.” In other words, under-schedule what you have to do so you have plenty of time to deal with what you want to do at the moment. For college students, this means resisting the urge to fill all of your time with coursework and activities. Instead, purposefully under-schedule, and then use the excess hours for the cool stuff that randomly pops up.Tip #4: Focus on HappinessRalph Waldo Emerson said: “To different minds, the same world is a hell, and a heaven.” The practical translation: put in an effort to both seek out happiness-boosting experiences and learn to express gratitude for what you find. There will always be crap lying around in your life. This will never go away. If you focus on it, your world will become Emerson’s hell. The real trick is to learn how to keep moving amidst this crap — acknowledging that its a part of life that spares no one — and continually seek out or construct experiences that make you happy. Don’t just have these experiences, but also reflect on them later and show real gratitude. Dr. Ben-Shahar points to compelling research that mindful reflection on what you enjoyed during your day can significantly boost self-reported well-being.Case Study: The Happy College StudentHere’s an interesting question: Assume you built your undergraduate life around the concept of happiness, what would it look like? Here’s one proposal:• Our hypothetical happy-focused student has a single major that he finds interesting. He is careful to keep his course load light; mixing easy with hard courses each semester so he is never overwhelmed with work. Further reduces the difficulty. This allows him to really dig into the material; spend extra time thinking about the bigger implications, arguing in class discussions and finding him often getting struck, at the most unexpected moments, with little shivers of inspiration. He doesn’t dread schoolwork, because he doesn’t have enough of it to make it painful.• He’s involved in some activity that he finds really important. For example, as a philosophy major, perhaps he believes in the movement to re-emphasize the importance of the liberal arts in college education. This might translate, practically, into him being an editor of the undergraduate philosophy journal and helping to organize the journal’s guest lecture series that brings interesting liberal thinkers onto campus.• However, this is his only real time-consuming extracurricular activity. Combine this with his manageable course load, and he has plenty of free time. He uses this for all sorts of purposes. Maybe he’s taken up Yoga, and has learned to take advantage of the daily shuttle from campus to a local ski slope. We can imagine that he’s constantly hanging out with friends and has been known to spend an afternoon reading random books at the bookstore cafe. He attends talks that seem interesting. Watches a lot of movies. And has become a beer snob, to the endless amusement of his natty-lite swilling roommates. At the same time, these extra hours also let him take advantage of more unexpected (and impressive) random opportunities: like writing an op-ed, pitching an article to a magazine, or volunteering to help setup a conference. He’s flexible, engaged, and low-stress. This leads him to interesting places.• This combination of being engaged in his schoolwork, doing something important, and finding lots of opportunities to inject some pleasure into his day leads to one happy undergrad.

Money and the Law of Attraction and Its Relation to Wealth, Happiness and Health

Article by Pamela Walker

Does life sometimes unfair? Were you feeling tired of doing your best and yet you still feel it is not enough? Were you feeling dismayed of everything that is happening in your life? Were you blaming fate about you difficulties? Were you thinking that money is the solution of everything? Money and the law of attraction will help you understand that law of attraction is not all about money, it is not all about how to be rich however it is all about how to prosper and develop in all aspects of life.

Wealth, happiness and health are the important things to consider for us to be able to say that we are really prosperous and successful in life. Money and law of attraction wants us to realize that being truly prosperous is not all about how much you have in your pocket but how fulfilled you are in your life as a person.

• Wealth

Money and the law of attraction is obviously related to wealth because if we do have money we can provide the things that we need in life. Being wealthy means to have plenty, having plenty means you will be able to have what you need at the same time what you want. Money and the law of attraction awakens us that money is not the source of evil or happiness, everything depends on the person itself. If he/she is over powered by money then that is the time that he/she can commit and do things that is not acceptable, on the other hand money is not the source of happiness, I will give you a very concrete example, for example, your dad met a car accident and he died, the driver of the car will offer a million pesos in exchange of your father’s life, would you accept it? If you will accept it, would you be really happy? Wealth is connected in money and the law of attraction because part of our success is wealth, we attract positive things for good fortune to come its way, and partly money goes with it. One basis of being wealthy is that the person can provide his/her basic needs, how can he/she provide without money?

• Happiness

Happiness is the state of being happy; it is all about being optimistic despite all odds. It is related to money and the law of attraction because we can only be able to attract positive things if we are happy in our lives, come to think of it, how can a very moody man attract customers to eat in his restaurant if he has always that gloomy and miserable face? Happiness is in the state of mind, a person can be happy despite some circumstances and difficulties; it is just a matter of seeing the brighter side of every situation. Money and law of attraction wants us to realize that happiness is not all about having everything in life; it is all about being happy and glad about life despite its uncertainties. The law is a wakeup call for us to know that being happy is one way of encouragement to ourselves saying “hey, whatever problems you have now, smile, everything will turn out right”.

• Health

Money and the law of attraction is related to health because obviously for us to be able to materialize that we want to achieve we must move and act however if the person is not physically and emotionally healthy he can never start. For instance, if a person wants to work abroad but he found out that he is ill apparently he will not be allowed to gout of the country and this plan will not be materialize, second if the person is not emotionally stable to start a business because he/she is full of fear and doubts about himself then he will not be able take any step forward. For a person to become really prosperous he/she must be healthy in all aspects because life is not easy, it is full of hardships and pain.

The three aspects shown above are all related to money and the law of attraction, law of attraction is an umbrella of all the aspects in our lives, we may sometimes think that knowing about money and the law of attraction is useless but as you live your life you will appreciate its significance and importance to the nature of human being.

The Secret of Abounding Happiness

Article by Liza Othman

Great is the thirst for happiness, and equally great is the lack of happiness. The majority of the poor long for riches, believing that their possession would bring them supreme and lasting happiness. Many who are rich, having gratified every desire and whim, suffer from ennui and repletion, and are farther from the possession of happiness even than the very poor.

If we reflect on this state of things it will ultimately lead us to a knowledge of the all important truth that happiness is not derived from mere outward possessions, nor misery from the lack of them. If this were so, we should find the poor always miserable, and the rich always happy, whereas the reverse is frequently the case. Some of the most wretched people whom I have known were those who were surrounded with riches and luxury, whilst some of the brightest and happiest people I have met were possessed of only the barest necessities of life. Many men who have accumulated riches have confessed that the selfish gratification which followed the acquisition of riches has robbed life of its sweetness, and that they were never so happy as when they were poor.

What, then, is happiness, and how is it to be secured? Is it a figment, a delusion, and is suffering alone perennial?

After earnest observation and reflection, we find that all, except those who have gained the wisdom, believe that happiness can only be obtained by the gratification of desire. It is this belief, rooted in ignorance, and continually watered by selfish cravings, that is the cause of all the misery in the world. And I do not limit the word desire to the grosser animal cravings; it extends to the higher psychic realm, where far more powerful, subtle, and insidious cravings hold in bondage the intellectual and refined, depriving them of all that beauty, harmony, and purity of soul whose expression is happiness.

Happiness is that inward state of perfect satisfaction which is joy and peace, and from which all desire is eliminated. The satisfaction which results from gratified desire is brief and illusionary, and is always followed by an increased demand for gratification. Desire is as insatiable as the ocean, and clamors louder and louder as its demands are attended to. It claims ever-increasing service from its deluded devotees, until at last they are struck down with physical or mental anguish, and are hurled into the purifying fires of suffering. Desire is the region of hell, and all torments are centered there. The giving up of desire is the realization of heaven, and all delights await the pilgrim there.

Heaven and hell are inward states. Sink into self and all its gratifications, and you sink into hell; rise above self into that state of consciousness which is the utter denial and forgetfulness of self, and you enter heaven. Self is blind, without judgment, not possessed of true knowledge, and always leads to suffering. Correct perception, unbiased judgment, and true knowledge belong only to the divine state, and only in so far as you realize this divine consciousness can you know what real happiness is. So long as you persist in selfishly seeking for your own personal happiness, so long will happiness elude you, and you will be sowing the seeds of wretchedness. In so far as you succeed in losing yourself in the service of others, in that measure will happiness come to you, and you will reap a harvest of bliss.

Abiding happiness will come to you when, ceasing to selfishly cling, you are willing to give up. When you are willing to lose, unreservedly, that impermanent thing which is so dear to you, and which, whether you cling to it or not, will one day be snatched from you, then you will find what seemed to you like a painful loss, turns out to be a supreme gain. To give up in order to gain, than this there is no greater delusion, nor no more prolific source of misery; but to be willing to yield up and to suffer loss, this is indeed the Way of Life.

The Real Secret To Wealth & Happiness!

Article by Amit Desai

Happiness is what causes Wealth, Wealth does not cause Happiness!!! Most people believe that, when they will become rich, they will become happy. The reverse is the TRUTH. You become wealthy only when you are basically a happy & positive person in life. Not the other way round.

Life all about becoming wealthy being happy. My only intention is to help you make a lot of money being HAPPY. Otherwise, what’s the point of making money if you won’t be happy at the end of it all?

Fill your heart with bliss & go about doing your work to make your life a grand CELEBRATION. Make a lot of money being happy. That will be your real test of success & character.

Money has got nothing to do with your happy-ness. If you are thinking that, when you make an ‘X’ amount of money you will become happy; I promise you won’t. Human wants are unlimited & ever-changing. Even the world’s richest people have their own wants.

Wealth without happiness will make you feel completely empty from inside. So, start by being happy in the present with whatever you have in life & then go about building your grandest dreams from this state of emotion. Only then you will attain Real Success.

This entire experience of life is not about “the stuff”. It is about the expansion and the joy that you feel from the inside. We have heard it many times before that, “it’s not about the destination, but it is about the journey.” The same is true in manifesting the life that you want.

Life is about closing the gap between what you don’t want in your life, and what you do want. Closing that gap is as the French say, “joie de vivre” or the zest of life. When you are in alignment, you are closing the gap, and therefore are the expanded version of you.

Being rich is not just about having more MONEY!!! Being rich is, knowing how to get everything you desire in life. That’s the real definition of being rich. Being rich is having the freedom to be able to do anything & everything whenever you want to do it. Being Rich is to experience the Grandest Glory called LIFE. Life was meant to be a Grand Celebration you see.

You are the greatest & the most wonderful creation of nature. You don’t even have to look elsewhere to find God. In fact, you were actually made in the image of God. Think about it. You possess in you, all the powers of the cosmos to make a heaven of a hell & a hell of a heaven by the virtue of the thoughts that you think in your mind!!!

When I say that you were created in the image of GOD, it doesn’t have to mean that we all are alike. What I intend to mean is that, in essence we are all made & composed of the same stuff. We are all made of the same energy which can vibrate at different frequencies to produce different results.

When you learn to control & direct your energy frequencies to vibrate & resonate at will, you become a deliberate creator in life & then you can create & manifest anything you want out of thin air (ether, I believe).

Genuine Happiness Originates from Within

Article by Dan

Daily life isn?t the sweetest candy. Occasionally, when I think that everything is simply too weighty, I look at and discover individuals who proceed to maintain intriguing and even fantastic lifestyles. Then ideas arrive popping in to my thoughts just like bubbles coming from no place – ?How did their particular existence turn out to be so adorably special? Is there a reason these people nonetheless could have the ability to chuckle and mess around in spite of an active demanding existence?? Next I stop and observed for awhile?

I figured out that perhaps, these people begin to focus on a location known as ?self?. And so, how can 1 grow to be truly content? Step One would be to absolutely love your self. My theology teacher once asserted ?loving indicates accepting.? To love yourself means to recognize that you aren’t the perfect being, although hiding behind the actual flaws must then lie a fantastic oz. of bravery so that you can uncover methods on how you can enhance your repertoire to recuperate from our own errors.

Real happiness additionally relates to satisfaction. When you’re happy with the position you might have, your physical appearance, with the family, your mates, the area you reside in, your vehicle, and all sorts of the items you have – honestly, you realize the resolution to the actual question ?how to become truly content.?

Whenever we discover a modest start someplace from inside, that modest beginning will ultimately result in something more important, and to something else. However, if you continue to keep questioning life like it has under no circumstances done you a bit of good, you’ll never be capable of finding authentic contentment. I really believe that every day life is about learning about right and wrong, attempting and faltering, winning and losing.

These are typically things which occur as frequently as you breathe in and out. Failing, in a person?s lifetime has grown to be as plentiful and essential as oxygen. But this certainly will not impede us from growing to be content. How to be honestly content regardless all of this? I say to you?

each time you put out energy to enhance the standard of existence and your being, whether it’s clearing up your living space, assisting a buddy, looking after your sickly canine, fall short on board examinations and trying once again, your life provides you with comparable points for that. Envision lives like a large score board like those that are utilized within the NFLs. Each time you are taking one step ahead, you are making scoring points. Wouldn?t it be great to look at that board at the conclusion of every game and think to your self ?Whew! I acquired a point today.

I?m happy I gave it a go.?, rather than looking at it all empty and murmur ?Geez, I didn?t even hit a score today. I wish I had the courage to try out. We might have won!? and after that leave. Authentic happiness isn?t about driving the greatest Formula 1 car, or obtaining the worker of the year accolade, earning the top 13th month pay out, or conquering the product sales quota.

Occasionally, one of the most sought-after awards in life doesn?t always go to the speediest, the most powerful, the bravest or not even the very best. So, how can you grow to be truly content? Every one has his or her own meaning of ?happiness?.

Happiness for a writer may mean launching as much best selling books as possible.

Happiness for a basketball rookie may mean getting the rookie of the year award.

Happiness for a beggar may mean a lot of money.

Happiness for a business man may mean success. So, really now, how do we become genuinely happy? Simple. You don?t have to have the best things in this world. Its about doing and making the best out of every single thing. When you find yourself smiling at your own mistake and telling your self ?Oh, I?ll do better next time?, you carry with you a flame of strong will power to persevere that may spread out like a brush fire.

You possess a willingness to stand up again and try – that will make you a genuinely happy person. When you learn to accept yourself and your own faults. You pass step 1 in the project ?how to become genuinely happy?. For as long as you know how to accept others, you will also be accepted. For as long as you love and know how to love, you will receive love ten folds back.

Again, throw me that same question ?how to become genuinely happy??. I?ll refer you to a friend of mine who strongly quoted- ?Most of us know that laughter is the best medicine to life?s aches and pain. But most of us don?t know that the best kind of laughter is laughter over self. Coz then you don?t just become happy? you become free.?

About Happiness And How To Be Happier

Article by NLP Life Coach Anna Aparicio

“Happiness Doesn’t Depend Upon Who We Are Or What We Have; It Depends Upon What we Think”

Happiness… our ultimate goal. But should it even be a goal, or a daily habit?

Thousands of books have been written on the subject, seminars taught, articles published, debates debated… yet a lot of us, as Bono would say, still haven’t found what we are looking for.

Is it about money, material possessions, status, achievements…?

It seems not.

What’s one to do if one gets to have all the things one ever wanted (not always easy but possible), and one still isn’t happy, what then?

Dr. Phil McGraw, American TV Host of Dr. Phil, has said that a lot of the rich people he knows and works with, people with a lot of money and material possessions, people who are made for life, are some of the unhappiest people he knows.

So some say that starting each day by thinking of all the things you have to be thankful for is one way to put your mind on the right track.

Most personal development experts agree that there are no shortcuts to happiness, and there are no secrets either. Even generally happy people do not experience joy twenty four hours a day. But a happy person can have a bad day and still find pleasure in the small things in life.

What’s true is that postponing our happiness until we reach a certain goal, like getting a pay rise or buying a sports car, is a sure way to stay stuck in misery.

Instead, schedule a few minutes every day to think about the good things in your life, and there are always good things. Also, think about things you would like to do, not things you’d like to have, but things you’d like to do that would make you happier.

Happiness tends to come more easily when we focus on developing ourselves, developing positive relationships and enjoyable work, and we have a sense that life has meaning. Also, having a spiritual dimension tends to be an essential component of happiness for a lot of people.

Suppose it also depends upon our values; what we hold most important in our lives. For some people money is top of the list, for others it is family, or love, or health.

And it seems to be true that as long as we live our lives in congruence with our values we are bound to lead happier lives.

But we have to remember that our future depends largely on the thoughts we think today. So, each moment of every day is an opportunity to turn our thinking around, therefore helping or hindering our ability feel more positive in the next moment.

– Our Consistent Thoughts Become Our Reality

As Buddha once said, what you think you become.

Pessimists look for what is wrong in the world. Optimists look for what’s right. Realists look for pragmatism. Yet, it’s the same world. What do you look for? Whatever it is, it’s a reflection of your consistent thoughts.

– Is It Possible To Laugh Ourselves Happy?

Optimism and happiness do seem to go hand in hand, and laughter is never far away once we’re able to focus on the bright side of things.

There is tons of research demonstrating the beneficial effects of positive emotions and laughter on our health; a sunny disposition can lengthen our life, it can help boost our immune system, and deal better with physical or mental conditions.

Recent research has also found that our body’s response to repetitive laughter is similar to the effect of repetitive exercise. So, whatever it takes to put a genuine smile on our face is what we should be doing!

But what else can we do to be happier?

1. GIVE: Giving without expecting anything in return is possibly one of the most satisfying and happiness inducing acts. What you give or how much you give is not what matters most. What matters most is your intention; that you genuinely and selflessly give so others can benefit. So, whether you donate money, goods, services, or your time, enjoy doing it more often.

2. CREATE: Creating something for ourselves, be it a business, a painting, or a meal… can bring infinite amounts of satisfaction and self-worth. The size of the project doesn’t matter, what matters most is that we do it because we want to and that we do it with love.

3. CONNECT: Being part of a relationship, a community, or a movement gives us a sense of belonging and of being accepted. Making new connections or connecting people together can bring more possibilities and opportunities for happiness our way.

What makes You happy?

“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
